Horatio

Not a great deal to report today. Just wandered round Nelson, including a rather strange museum where they have moved a number of old buildings from around the city (or built replicas). It's a bit like St Fagans, but on a compressed timescale.

As you'll see from the photos, it's all a bit Camberwick Green. You half expected to see clockwork firemen round every corner.

Oh and the church in the museum is typical of others in the area. They are made out of wood and sometimes clad with stone, and are generally very small, but they all have large buttresses (because that's what large European stone churches look like! )

At least the historic brewery is still in full swing (can you guess whose line of beers is whose?)

  1. There's a museum like that in Trondheim. Lists of old buildings re erected around a very ruined castle. Scenery photos continue to make me jealous, perhaps our week in Finland will mollify me.
